Apropos

The Connected is a collection of my thoughts on numerous, eclectic topics of personal interest. My name is Kurtis Evans. I am a middle aged Torontonian who, like most, has a wide range of hobbies. The Connected is my attempt to write on those hobbies in an informative way, with a focus on both the design and the sustained, real life use of the kinds of everyday items that are of interest to like-minded readers.

Articles on this site focus on topics such as:

technology — desktop and laptop computers, personal and household devices, wearables, cameras, audio, visual, and any other kind device that may be of personal interest.

household — like many middle-agers, I am in the midst of a home renovation and plan to write in the future on the kinds of choices and reasoning that go into both a rebuild project and, eventually, furnishing.

fitness — running gear, shoes, and wearable tech to help better monitor vitals and progress.

hobbies — gaming, reading, movies, food, etc.

sustainability — items purchased with the intention of a lifetime of use.

Are you a company with a compelling product, looking for a detailed review? The Connected accepts products for review, so long as it’s the kind of product I would actually be inclined to use in my personal, everyday life. I make no promises, except that I give fair, unbiased reviews in which I will highlight both the pros and cons of the kinds of products designed to enhance a connected lifestyle.
